ROSE FORGROVE CHESS CLUB - MONTHLY MERIT GAMES COMPETITION

We are running a competition throughout the 2009/2010 playing season for the highest graded members and lowest graded members. The two sections are ECF 136 and above & bellow ECF 136. A game will be published every month from each level, which is judged to be the most interesting or in it's own way the best game entered. We are not looking for perfect games, those with a good chess theme/s or point/s are best. For examples, it could be a win because of centre domination creating space for ones pieces to move about the board, a good tactical combination or a well timed counter attack. A draw rescued from a loss by a swindle or a sacrifice leading to repetitive checks. A game may have lots of different themes or points. If only 1 game is handed in for either section then that game will win, as long as it is a win or a draw.

Any member can be a winner

Judging is by 2 or 3 totally independent people, with Fritz 11 software & human common sense used.
